OH YEAH THAT GUY
I almost forgot about the condor that stole my thunder. I like it when the local woodwork contains wild animals.

LONG TIME COMING
Ok, so see the guy on the left dressed in black? That's Don Lubach. He pretty much rules. Don first found out about the Aeolian Ride well over 3 years ago. He couldn't raise the funds to bring me to Santa Barbara, but he happened to tell his friend Heather Jeno Silva, the girl dressed in black, who makes awesome stuff happen for the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum. She called Don up to tell him they were bringing me out and Don said "it was like Christmas!"

WHEEL HOUSE BOYS
Heather is pretty smart and she found these great guys, Evan Minogue and Erik Wright who run this bike shop called Wheelhouse to sponsor the ride. They sell all kinds of cargo and cruiser bikes.

  POST RIDE PLAN
The day after the ride Heather and I met up to have a burger off the burger bus (not to miss if you are in Santa Barbara and you are the meat eating type) which is right on the Wheelhouse parking lot. Here Heather tests a cargo bike. Afterwards the Wheelhouse boys told me about a cruiser bike skid out contest in La Isla Vista out by the university. The boys prepped their beater cruiser bikes with florescent orange duct tape and we all took turns testing our skids. Mine was mmm... tiny.

TINY SKIDS OR NO
Inspite of mylack of skid skills I took the cruiser bike from my hotel and pedalled out 9 miles to meet up with Jess for the cruiser bike skid out contest. Sadly we missed the contest but we did get to make this video of Jess riding his big wheel unicycle through campus on a party night. It was so hysterical to me the way he would look out of control almost hit someone and then zip off in the next direction. He wooop wooop woooped all over the place. I wish you could hear him, but instead it is me laughing maniacally. Egads!

  THE KING OF ISLA VISTA
Jess and I ran into Erik of Wheelhouse. He told us the beach cruiser skid contest was epic. Evan, his partner, won the skid contest! He was being paraded through Isla Vista brought back to the house where he would be king and they would burn a piano and a bike while a death metal band played. We got there in time the burning and the band. Later we watched a reggae band and I played drums at a hippie house where the water in the fish tank was so green you couldn't see the fish. Crazy college kids!
