WHAT A RIDE
JULY 2, 2011 CICLORIA FESTIVAL & POST INVITED THE AEOLIAN RIDE TO COME CELEBRATE THE BIKE LOVE IN THE RIA DE AVIERO, IN THREE BEAUTIFUL SEASIDE AREAS, FURODOURO, OVAR & MURTOSA PORTUGAL. THEY REALLY BROUGHT THE RIDE IN FOR A SPECIAL EVENT. MY LOVE FOR THIS COUNTRY JUST KEEPS EXPANDING.

  UNITING WITH BIKES
So the Cicloria Festival was created to unite three municipalities near the ocean and many inlets with a series of bike related events. Kicking it off is the beer train!

ROUND 1: BIKE SPRINTS
Acrobat, cyclist, hat-maker and friend Tina Clay and I ended up battling each other on bikes the whole trip. To my surprise I won the first race on the bike sprints.

BOATING BEAUTIES
There is a tradition of decorating the fishing boats with some quirky, lewd or political cartoons on the sides of the boats. This one has a sexy pirate lady playing pool asking if you want to take a shot.

At the end of the festival it rained a little on the bikes that were being loaded into the trucks leaving these amazingly perfect silhouettes. We each got a chance to do some tricks.

ROUND 3: MINI PUFF
Of course, Tina and I needed to compete in this race to and we added an extra challenge with a little air resistance. She not only won this race but did a cartwheel at the end. I fell off the bike. At this point I have to say that Tina is the champion until we meet again!!!

This kid won this reclining bike for his school. Sadly, upon receiving the bike, he tried it and fell off, injuring himself a little.
